Arabian Haven Australia

Riding in style!!!

News.

October 2009 –

  • Ozzie Icon is gelded with the plan that he will be broken in after the baby is born to be used as Nicoles saddle horse. Larabi Shimmering mist is believed to be in foal to him so no doubt we will be blessed with a beautiful foal in 2010 making the decision to geld him, that little bit easier.
  • Kasharnas Eli Jamaal goes away to a friends for some additional saddle training so Kasharna can finally claim what is rightfully hers! After only two weeks away with Jess, Kasharna was able to walk, trot, canter and jump Eli. The appear to be a good match!!!! It was funny to remember that when we went and chose Eli almost 4 years ago, Kasharna was only 5 and beggining to ride - now she is 9, Eli almost 4 and they had their first ride together. A very special moment!

September 2009 –

  • Kasharnas Eli Jamaal wins 1st Arabian Mare and then Reserve Champion Arabian Exhibit at the Fraser Coast All Breeds Show. It was not pleasurable seeing Nicole running her out with her super huge pregnant belly - lol!
  • Grelisa Park  has been sold to Tanlee Stud where it is reported she will be used as a brood mare and pleasure mount for the family. We are sure that she will continue to produce show quality progeny for Tanya Ryan and her family. She will be dearly missed by our family!
  • Arabian Haven Sir Pryze has been sold to a knowledagble home at Kiljora Park  (NSW) where it is reported he will be used as a Stud/Show/Saddle stallion in years to come. We wish Tricia from Kiljora Park every success with this very special boy!

August 2009 –

  • Due to the pregnancy Nicole decides to advertise many of her horses. In particular Arabian Haven Sirp Pryze and Ozzie Icon were put in September Horse Deals to assess expressions of interest. A heartbreaking decision but probably better for the boys if they are regularly used. All inquiries welcome.
  • Arabian Haven Sir Pryze's registration with AHSA is finalised!

July 2009 –

  • Ozzie Icon's registration is upgraded to Stallion and he is approved as a breeder for the 2009/10 breeding season. He comes home from the agistment paddock in preparation for the season.
  • Sent away registration paperwork for Arabian Haven Sirp Pryze to AHSA. Registration currently pending.

June 2009 –

  • Nicole finds out she is pregnant so no more horse riding. Due 08 January 2010
  • Grelisa Park Mitike AKA Tiki goes for some training with Shane Kraut but she injured herself in the float on the way there and had to come home. Poor Kasharna is not riding at the moment either. I am sure Tiki's leg will recover quickly.

May 2009 –

  • Ooranga Park Poetic Justis has been sold to young Imogen Spencer in NSW. She plans to continue in pony club and train ride with him. I am sure with his experience he will teach her great things and they will be an unstoppable team. A sad day to see him go but knowing he is going to a good home makes it so much easier.
  • Despite Nicole's broken arm, Kasharna's Eli Jamaal and Ozzie Icon attend the Fraser Coast Show with excellent results. Eli is awarded 1st Mare 3years & over, Champion Mare/filly and once again crowned Supreme Arabian Exhibit. Ozzie Icon is awarded 1st Arabian Colt, under 3 years and Champion Colt/Stallion.

April 2009 –

  • Nicole breaks her arm and therefore is out of action for the next 8 weeks. Horses will no longer be able to be conditioned for the upcoming shows. Most will be put on Agistment until the arm is healed. Nicole is devastated! First no riding and now no handling at all :(
  • Congatulations to Chevrealea Stud (Who I used to breed my palomino weanling!) for their progeny obtaining Australian National Champion 2-3yo part bred colt, Also congratulations to Glen Ville Arabians for their Top 10 Win shown by Global Equine Marketing and also miva Stud who had a Top 10 Win with their stallion who was shown by Global Equine Marketing. Another Congratulations goes to Anfield Arabians on their 3 Reserve National Champion wins with their Quarab Stallion. It is great to see that our local studs did so well at the Nationals.

March 2009 –

  • Arabian Haven Australia makes it into the Arabian Horse News with an article about versatile arabians. We also appear on the Studs of Qld Map. look out for the photo of Kasharna and Ooranga Park Poetic Justis.
  • Arabian Haven Sir Pryze has been weaned and begins handling and halter training.
  • Kasharna has begun to ride Grelisa Park Mistike  after weaning the foal. We believe with *Bay Hallany as her grandsire that she will make an excellent saddle horse for Kasharna along side Ooranga Park Poetic Justis.
  • Nicole is still battling with her injury and therefore has not been riding. It has not stopped her from training the horses, especially the colts in natural horsemanship to enforce some manners and respect.

February 2009 –

  • We attended the Arabian Summer Show. Despite Ozzie Icon injuring himself the night before (swallon hind legs and hair off) we placed 3rd. Poor Kasharna's Eli Jamaal got attacked by insects on the way down and had welts all over her when we got there. We still put her in her class but she wasn't herself and as a result she fully slipped over in her work out. But we had a great time admiring the competition, catching up with friends and teaching Ozzie Icon what showing is all about. He was so well behaved for his first time out, even when a Arabian Warmblood stallion got free and ran straight to him :) It was an honour to be told by a stranger that she thought that we had the most well behaved young horses at the show!
  • ‘Kasharnas Eli Jamaal’ and Ooranga Park Poetic Justis attended the Cooyar Agricultural Show and we won all our classes. 'Eli' got 1st Mare, Champion Mare/filly and Supreme Arabian Exhibit. 'Jack' was awarded 1st Gelding against 5 others but I did not put him in the championships due to having Eli in it!
  • Due to an old knee injury resurfacing Nicole is unable to ride for a while. This meant that we had to return Lady to Johroy Stud. What a disappointment.

January 2009 –

  • Our precious Ali Jamaal granddaughter ‘Kasharnas Eli Jamaal’ has been started under saddle and will be continued to be trained until late 2009 when we hope to begin her saddle career.
  • Ozzie Icon and Kasharnas Eli Jamaal have begun to be conditioned for the Summer Show in February 2009. Unfortunately the continuous rain has delayed all training as the new arena takes a while to dry out.
  • Arabian Haven Australia visited Glen Ville Arabians. If only we had more acreage, more time for training and most of all more money!!!! Dawn Vanderwold has an amazing collection of arabians. I look forward to a further visit in the near future.
  • Arabian Haven Australia welcomed a visit from Robert Curtin from Marywood Arabians.
  • Construction of our stables begin. Thanks to our family and friends who continue to put in considerable time to make Arabian Haven’s dreams a reality.

December 2008 –

  • Arabian Haven Australia is pleased to announce the sale of Majestic Storm to Tara and Jason Law. Majestic Storm born at Arabian Haven in 2006 was purchased due to being the grandson of Sir Ibn Moniet and will be used over their Sir Ibn Moniet bred mares. It is reported that he will be shown in hand and later compete in endurance. We wish Tara and Jason every success with Majestic Storm.
  • Arabian Haven Australia finally has a sand arena. Thank-you to all our friends who assisted with this arena. It was a much bigger job than anticipated. It will be well used!

November 2008 –

  •  Arabian Haven Australia has leased a magnificent anglo arabian mare from Johroy Stud for a short term. Nicole will compete under saddle with the mare alongside her daughter in 2009. We aim to spend some great time riding together at the local hack and dressage competitions and training days. Thanks Theresa from Johroy Stud for entrusting us with your lovely mare. You are allowing Nicole and Kasharna to enjoy their favorite sport together.

October 2008 –

  • Nicole takes a well earned break and travels to Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand with her best friend who she met through horses in 1992.

September 2008 –

  • Arabian Haven Australia are pleased to announce the safe arrival of their first bred foal, Arabian Haven Sir Pryze (pend) a 75% arabian palomino colt. He is maternal sibling to Majestic Storm being out of our successful show mare Grelisa Park Mistike and sired by Chevralea Dreamweava who is paternal sibling to 2007 Australian Top 10 part bred Stallion Chevralea Golden Saiedii. He has excellent confirmation, lovely markings and superb elevation. We hope to show him throughout SE Qld in 2009. We thank Chevralea Stud for giving us this wonderful opportunity to breed such a quality and stunning foal!
  • September nearly saw the loss of our highly decorated gelding and Kasharna’s trusty steed “Ooranga Park Poetic Justis.” Unknown to us he was being fed grass clippings from our neighbors. A few weeks later and 4 vet visits we saw an improvement in his condition.  He is truly a remarkable gelding who is much loved member of our family so thankfully he has recovered.
